Students love being around adults who respect them as persons and who will activate their innate potential by example and inspiration. This requires an adult who is observant of the learner’s nature and is sensitive to make inevitable adjustments in the process of growth. The “teacher” is a coach coming alongside the student - hence “amble” beside them. This philosophy directs learning at the centre.

Ambleside Schoolhouse is a new initiative. Courses are developed incrementally. The first course offered will be in foreign languages. The acquisition of languages is a gradual and sequential process over many years meant to equip students to be courteous and kind global neighbours. It is the beginning of a whole new set of relationships that is catapulted by good listening and conversational skills, as well as a willingness to understand and incorporate a new culture. This requires new ways of thinking which expands our knowledge of the world and how things are done and challenges our mindsets.

The Language Advantage highlights the benefits that children gain cognitively, academically, and culturally from learning a new language. Besides utilitarian reasons, a Foreign Language is a gift every parent can provide. There is much research that has been done in language acquisition to distinguish fact from fiction. For that reason Language Facts addresses parents’ questions. Learning A New Language requires some patience and commitment to the process.
